Disney World, located in Central Florida, offers an amazing set of exciting water parks for its visitors. Typhoon Lagoon not only offers the chance to swim in crystal blue waters with fellow vacationers, but also, it provides the unusual opportunity to swim with some of Mother Nature’s native inhabitants of the oceans- sharks and tropical fish.
If park visitors can get past the initial skittishness of being in the water with a shark for company, the experience is a thrilling one that is unrivaled by other parks in the area. Each person is set up with the proper equipment and instructions for an entirely safe adventure. Plus, the water is so crystal clear that the photographic opportunity is purely amazing.
Castaway Creek features a tour of the park while navigating its gentle waters in the comfort of an inner tube. Hundreds of park visitors soak up the sun’s rays while splashing about in the cool waters. A few unexpected surprises occur along the way, increasing the fun. Several landing points exist throughout the journey, making it easy to travel throughout the park.
One of the largest surf pools ever, the one at Typhoon Lagoon provides plenty of room for everyone to body surf in its continuous waves. There’s plenty of beach area for those who want to simply watch or dry off for a few minutes.
However, if you really enjoy having an inner tube along with you for the ride, try Mayday Falls where guests can ride the contours of its mountain on a water slide. The big splash at the end of your journey not only gets you wet, but also, it guarantees that this is one journey that you’ll never forget. The speed slides at Humunga Kowabunga provide riders with the thrill of riding down the side of a mountain without the benefit of inner tubes.
Family fun is also a big part of Typhoon Lagoon. For the younger fish in the pond, there’s Ketchakiddee Creek. This section offers all of the fun on a smaller scale and is restricted to the youngest children only. Additionally, a family rafting experience is offered at Gang Plank Falls. This downward plunge provides so many twists and turns that you might be a bit wobbly on your feet once it’s over.
The only things that one needs to watch out for in this water park are a few intermittent thunderstorms. Even lounge chairs are provided for your sunbathing pleasure. Grab your swimsuit, beach towel, and sunscreen and come on over for the fun.
